ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK CAPO COLONNA
On the Capo Colonna promontory stands the Archaeological Park of the same name, made under the protection of the Archaeological Heritage of Calabria.
The Park extends over 30 hectares of excavated land and another 20 hectares of woodland and mediterranean scrub.
Of great interest are also the Archaeological Museum which collects the finds found in the excavation area in front and the Temple of Hera Lacinia, one of the most important sanctuaries of Magna Graecia from the archaic age up to the 4th century B.C. and of which today remains a single surviving column.
